Misc es la caja gratuita que viene con cualquier licencia de BIMIO: 28 herramientas en un panel de Revit, y un lanzador que se busca escribiendo. Medir, renombrar, etiquetar a lo largo de un recorrido, auditar grupos, crear patrones de relleno, barrer el modelo. Cada herramienta escribe en una única transacción con nombre, y todas te dicen antes si van a tocar tu modelo.

Por qué existe Misc

Las cien tareas pequeñas para las que nadie escribe una app.

Cualquier día de Revit trae una docena de recados de dos minutos: mide esto, renumera aquello, encuentra en qué plano está esta vista, purga lo que ya no usa nadie. Por separado ninguno justifica un add-in; juntos se comen la tarde.

Sin Misc
  • Un add-in gratuito distinto para cada recado, cada uno con su instalador y su pestaña.
  • Veinte botones cuyo nombre no recuerdas, así que usas tres.
  • Ninguna forma de saber si una herramienta va a cambiar tu modelo hasta que ya lo ha hecho.
  • La herramienta que necesitas es justo aquella cuyo nombre no te viene.
Con la caja
  • Un panel, 28 herramientas, agrupadas como se agrupa el trabajo.
  • Escribe lo que quieres: en español o en inglés, con faltas, o por el nombre antiguo de la herramienta.
  • Un punto ámbar o verde en cada una: modifica el modelo, o sólo lo lee.
  • Una transacción con nombre por gesto, así que un solo Ctrl+Z siempre basta.

El lanzador

O sáltate el panel: escribe lo que quieres.

El botón Misc abre un lanzador con una caja de búsqueda y todas las herramientas dentro, agrupadas por el tipo de trabajo al que pertenecen. No busca sólo por el nombre: cada herramienta lleva las palabras que la gente usa de verdad, en español y en inglés, con faltas, abreviadas y con los nombres de las herramientas que absorbió. Escribe «cotas» y aparece Along Path; escribe «impacto» y aparece IDs. Pruébalo: éste es el catálogo real.

One window for the whole suite: a health header (score, sync cadence, insights from the shared project store) plus a tile per app — schedules pending sync, tables needing refresh, open clashes, standards violations, review progress — each with an Open button. Where Lens reads the selected element, this reads the whole project; export the shareable HTML report from the window, and nothing leaves this machine.

With three models open, every tab looks the same and the drawing area gives nothing away. Livery gives each model a colour: on its document tabs, and as a thin frame around the drawing area so you see it without looking up.

Every model gets a colour on its own, worked out from the model itself — nothing to set up. Click a swatch to choose another one; that choice is remembered between sessions and follows the model even if it is moved or renamed.

Every so often a small card slides up at the bottom of the drawing area — a pun, a line from Seneca or Grace Hopper, what happened on this day in 1889 — and then it goes away by itself. Your clicks pass straight through it, and nothing repeats until the whole deck has been through.

Watches the folders that matter — deliveries, links, a Desktop Connector path — and tells you what was added, changed, renamed or deleted since you last looked, both live while you work and as a summary when you open the model. It doubles as an explorer inside Revit: double-click anything to reveal it in Windows, and the watched paths belong to the project and can be sealed into the model so the other models find them too.

SYNC propagates a reference view's annotation to the views you pair with it and keeps it LIVE — tags, room tags, dimensions, text and detail items; it checks before it writes, one line per view saying what is missing, what has drifted, what somebody drew by hand outside the sync, and what is left over. DIMENSIONS freezes dimensions onto invisible lines so they always place, at the price of going static, and LINKS records what your tags point at inside a linked model, so the consultant's next issue does not cost you a day.

A fill pattern is one tile, repeated
Everything else follows from that — including why some angles cannot be drawn exactly.
1 · Draw one tile
Draw a RECTANGLE for the repeat, and inside it the lines you want. Revit then tiles that rectangle edge to edge, for ever. So you never draw the whole hatch — only the smallest piece that repeats.
2 · Why some angles get bent
Revit does not store your lines. It stores, per direction, a lattice: a start point, an angle, the gap to the next line and the dash run. A direction only works if it lands back exactly on the tile's own grid after a whole number of tiles.Left: the line reaches a tile corner, so it repeats — exact. Right: it lands mid-edge and never closes, so it gets snapped.
You do not have to accept a bent angle
The maths runs backwards: for ANY angle there is a tile that makes it exact. The Diagonal hatch and Cross hatch presets do that calculation for you, so 30° comes out as 30.000° and not 26.57°.
3 · Model or drafting?
MODEL patterns are measured in real units and scale with the view — brickwork stays 215 mm whether you are at 1:20 or 1:200. DRAFTING patterns are measured on paper and never change on the sheet.
4 · What cannot be done, honestly
Straight lines only. An arc or a spline has no single direction, so it cannot be a lattice — arcs in your selection are counted and skipped rather than quietly turned into a fan of little segments.
5 · Re-running is editing
Create with a name that already exists and that pattern is UPDATED, not duplicated — so tuning a preset and pressing Create again refines the same pattern, and everything already using it follows.

Merge regionsPick two or more regions; they come back as one. The result keeps the type, the boundary line style and the instance parameters of the FIRST region you pick. Revit has no equivalent: changing Base Constraint in the Properties palette always moves the wall. Here the absolute elevation is the invariant — the offset is recomputed against the new level so the geometry does not budge, and every wall is re-measured afterwards.
